My coaching method & approach
My belief is that coaching is metacognition in action. It's a reflective brainstorm where I help you think about what matters to you. The coaching conversation provides the rare opportunity to center your prerogatives in order to create intentional and tailored strategies rather than recycled or ill-informed advice. TLDR: I help you deliberate, not tell you what to do.In the first session, generally we come to agreement on what your challenges, goals, values and priorities are for the coaching engagement.
In the subsequent sessions, you bring a topic or challenge that's particularly relevant to you at the time and through reflection and talking it through, you come to actions, strategies, next steps, or experiments to move forwards with.
Unlike some other coaches, I provide detailed notes to my clients, which they generally appreciate. I also enjoy providing supplementary resources like articles or videos which may be applicable to the topic at hand, though always optional.
